I *think* what you saw was XP's normal warning about opening ANY file - it doesn't say it DOES contain harmful code it says it MAY contain harmful code!
There is absolutely no way XP can or does check the actual file code & in any case your anti virus checker would have warned you if there was a problem. This is a zip file which has to be unzipped, the program simply runs from the execute it does not install.
