We're not the authors of ANY of the programs we list and we don't have the resources to download, install, or review any of them either. There's lots of help on the author's website including a forum. Click this link.

Its not bad for free. You cannot setup positions in this game, you have to start a new game. You can play against the 10 personalities and create new ones.

I'm trying to understand chess programs myself. This has a very good plain english explaination of how chess programs think.

You can setup a position using a FEN text file. See the attached documentation for details.
