Ur I.T.Chess  by Ur I.T. Mate Group
Games → Board → Chess

Chess is the game I used to play when I was young! Fantastic, relaxing, intriguing, and annoying at times, it is a game for all ages, and better yet, this version is 2 player....

PLEASE NOTE - That the many freeware programs under this group; Ur I.T. Mate Group can be VERY difficult to locate because of it's use of near / similar to website name(s).
TRY first either it-mate.co.uk OR downloads.mysteryfcm.co.uk AND ...using this download site index DISregard the sometimes HUGE dowload size ...'cause these figures do Not represent that size of the program.

For example for the popular program PUI it shows 32MB ...which is very misleading since the most current 10-2008 version is actually 2.4mb. What that index/chart shows is an accumulation of all past and present versions. -- hummmm

olfoo I don't understand your problems with our links & Steven's site!
We only list Steven's OWN programs, we don't link to the other freeware he lists.

Our "download" links for his programs are direct links, you do not need to go to his site to download the program we have listed.

Our "website" links for his listings take you to Steven's main "products" page, on the left side of it is a list of *his own* programs. In that list you will find the link to the program we have listed - in this case "Chess".
I would link directly to the page for the program if I could.
Unfortunately there are quite a lot of sites where I cannot use the direct page links. Our pages are created by our database but browsers do not always read certain 'characters' ( e.g. & or #) correctly so, if a link contains these characters (& MANY do!) the link will not work properly, if at all.

I also don't know why you see a need to "explain" the sizes of "Directories" on the "Downloads" page. (BTW I fixed your link!) None of those links are to a single download, it's NOT a "downloads index" it's a "Downloads Directory" list. All the links are to a "Directory" i.e. "Folder" & the size given is the size of the folder. What's confusing about that?!?!?

Your statements are very correct and useful to point out a problem I caused..
How and what I wrote only confused by ADDING information that is UNrealated to this single Chess program.
It was meant to point out the many usefull freeware apps are at the http://www.it-mate.co.uk/ website.

Mmmmm well your intentions were good olfoo ;-)

We have 12 of Steven's own programs listed but a lot of them he no longer develops & some are outdated now. For a while he stopped developing *anything* because he ran into so many ill-informed & rudely worded comments/criticisms/demands! It never ceases to amaze me how appalling rude people can be when they aren't paying for the product or service :(

He also hosts a lot of freeware for other authors most of which we list but with links to the authors' own sites. Right now Steven is tearing his hair out trying to get everything back on line after severe problems caused by flood attacks & hacked servers!
