I've tried a few of this type, my favorite being Turbonote for years. iQ notes looks a good contender..very well thought out and I've gone far enough to switch as it might be good to keep. It also has alarm function too.

Good. Stable. Well developed with lot of good features; lock notes with passwords [a must], attach to a program of choice, reminders. Very slick, a leader in this field.
