Palore
download web site opinions problem?

Palore is a free browser plugin that brings you reliable reviews whenever looking for a local business, in any site. It's based on the notion that the best reviews, which you trust most, are not always available in the search sites you use. Palore solves that problem by letting you choose your trusted review sites from all over the Web, and by showing you their reviews at the right place, and at the right time.

How does it work?

The Palore plug in identifies phone numbers of local businesses in any web page you visit, and turns them into links. Palore then uses the phone numbers as anchors, checking if there are any good reviews available on those businesses. When you click on a number, Palore opens a small bubble and displays the chosen reviews.

Palore is safe and simple. It shows you valuable information only when needed, without slowing down your browser or taking up valuable space, like some toolbars do.

While you don't have to do anything to start using Palore, you can customize the review sources so that they'll appear first in the bubble (e.g. you may want to see the reviews from a friend on Yelp or InsiderPages first). Review writers can also create personalized versions of Palore that come preconfigured with their own reviews (see Palore To Go ).

What is Contextual RSS? This is where we start getting philosophical...

The idea behind Contextual RSS is that some types of content donīt fit the traditional RSS model but, can be effectively aggregated in a different way. For example, a user could have several review sources that she trusts (e.g. a restaurant critic, her friends on Yelp and some metro-bloggers) which she would like to read, when looking for a restaurant. Seeing all their reviews in one place would be quite powerful, but since looking for a local business isnt a daily activity (like reading the news), it would be inconvenient to have them all appear in an RSS reader.

This is where Contextual RSS comes in. With Contextual RSS, your favorite content sources all appear in one place, but only when you need it, and only in the right context. To continue the previous example, with Contextual RSS our user would see her trusted reviews only when looking for a restaurant. The relevant reviews would appear in any webpage where restaurants are mentioned (it can be a yellow pages site or in a webmail message).

Contextual RSS is simply another step in the evolution of RSS, extending the benefits of RSS to more types of content.
