Gedcom generation is initiated with a push of a VBA coded macro button. The concept behind GenEvents is to provide one location to record the events, documents and other info in your genealogical research. You can then simply reference the GenEvents record in whatever genealogical program you use instead of having to reenter the same data there as well. (Although you can easily cut and paste from GenEvents.) You can enter up to 5000 characters of text for each record (type or cut and paste). You can also make a printed copy of the individual record. The second part of GenEvents (the Cemetery records) is for the burial information on those persons in your genealogy files/research. The Gen Viewer Applet is a Java applet which allows you to browse a GEDCOM file from the web. This applet provides five different views of the genealogy data. Family Group- individual being displayed including parents, spouses, and children. Pedigree - five generation pedigree chart. Descendant - all of the descendants for the selected individual in a scrollable window. Alpha List - all individuals in the data base in alphabetical order by last name. Statistics - counts of all unique surnames contained in the file displayed in list form. Notes - Displays any notes that I have included for the currently selected individual. Generally this includes source references for the information gathered about the person.
