» Arabic Unknown Words 1.1+

Arabic Unknown Words is a list of unknown words, or words that are not included in the Buckwalter Morphological Analyser version 2. It includes about 18,000 new lemmatized words. They are weighted and ordered so that there is a good likelihood that words which are most relevant (lexicographically) will surface to the top and the least relevant words will be pushed down the list. So, for example, if you take the first 2,000 words, there is a good chance that you'll find more than half of them fit to include in a dictionary. Proper names are not filtered out because high frequency proper names are usually included in morphological analysers to improve coverage, but in dictionaries people might want to exclude them.

Giorgio's English Words Study is a fun game to help you to learn English words with the correct spelling and pronunciation. If you have a word list to learn you can copy those words to the program, it will help you to learn them in a less boring way. More than one person can use the program and each person can have their own structured file. The program presents an item, asks for its translation, and starts counting seconds. As you write the answer, the word appears black colored, but red at the first error, becoming black again when you correct it. When the answer is complete the program gives you the Prize and puts forward a new word to solve. A starting (Italian-English) sample-file is supplied with the program, but you can build your own file, adding, deleting and modifying the contents using the program's functions or a text editor as long as you don't exceed the set field lengths.

» Kelb's Vocabulary Trainer 1.0+

Kelb's Vocabulary Trainer is different! Learning dictionary entries doesn't really help much to learn a foreign language. This is why I regard the concept of a vocabulary trainer as useless. The only meaningful alternative I can figure out is the one which designed according to the motto "learning in context". The program should before it shows the translation first give different instances of the word if the user cannot remember it during the quiz. I tried to realize this concept with Kelb's Vocabulary Trainer.

Words Reminder can help if you study a foreign language and need something to remind you of the words you just learned, but are about to forget. The program is very small, stays on top of the screen, does not bother you at work, and continuously takes a random word from your dictionary and displays it, asking you to enter the translation. Matching; you need to connect a list of the words in one language with a list of these words in the other language. 3. Multiple Choice; You need to find the translation of one word from a list of other translations. 4. Guess; you're asked to guess the translation of a word; afterwards you're asked whether you guessed correctly. imagined yourself the right word.
