  Flashnote was created for the times when you need to save a rough copy, a URL, a phone number, process some pieces of text, etc. Flashnote is small, quick and convenient, press the shortcut-key combination and a rough copy is on screen in a flash, press ESC and the program hides. Portable version also available. You don't need to find a place for text, to run Notepad or a huge heavy PIM. Flashnote is a lightweight notes manager, everything gets done quickly, simply and in a more convenient way. Flashnote is NOT a substitute for Notepad or some other text editor.   PrestoNotes allows you to write little memo's and stick them on your screen. Each note may be entirely personalized for image, background and text colour, Transparency, fonts, title bar, scroll bar, position and size, displayed over other windows, or not. Open or save in an external file (.txt), entirely customized alarm settings. The portable version of PrestoNotes doesn't need to be installed and can be run from a USB key, doesn't require "Administrator" rights and doesn't install anything in the system folder of Windows. Demanding no space on your taskbar and as little memory as it can, the program is accessible via a small line on the top edge of your desktop.   The design goal behind Stickies is that the program is small and simple. Stickies will not mess with your system files, or write to the registry. Stickies stores information in a single text-based ini file. Stickies will never support animated dancing figures, or play "Greensleeves". They are instead yellow rectangular windows onto which you can put some text notes. Once created, they will stay on screen until you take them away. Once on screen, stickies will remain where placed until closed, even through reboots. Just like a real sticky piece of paper.
