  TrackAMinute2 is all about time tracking. To set it up you add your clients, add the projects you're working on, and then add tasks to each project. In day-to-day use, you select a given task and click the 'Start' button to tell the program what you're working on. It will automatically suspend the previous task and begin timing this one. The idea is to track exactly how many days, hours and minutes were spent on given tasks within projects, and for which clients. Track-A-Minute will then generate reports which can be copied and pasted into your invoices, giving your clients a detailed account of the time spent on their project.

  Revic is a cost estimation software, used in estimating the cost of software development projects based on source lines of code (SLOC). This was a good freeware program which still has valid uses today. Revic was distributed by the US Air Force Cost Analysis Agency (AFCAA) but the official site is mostly unavailable, we salute the USAF by maintaining our site for their program.

  Atlas is a program targeted at architects and construction engineers. Atlas computes the resulting moments and reaction forces for a given beam with loads applied to it (single as well as distributed), using Cross' method. A typical application would be to optimize joint positions (i.e. positions with zero moment) in purlins or beams. The program has a very easy interface. It lets you enter your data with the mouse, and it shows the resulting moments and shear forces immediately in both a graphical and numerical way. Maximum bending moments can easily be calculated. This version can handle one-dimensional structures or beams only.

  The Octagon Layout Calculator is a handy carpenter's tool for laying out a perfect octagon. Seeing as it's tolerance is to the nearest 1/16", it's no good for small projects such as jewelry boxes. I had in mind gazebos when I wrote it, 1/16" is plenty accurate for framing purposes.
